Sidi & Arai

I just checked with the Sidi distributer on size 42 of the Vortice in red. They wont be getting them till mid March. Weaksauce!!! The reasons Im leaning towards the Vortice.
1. The look.
2. It has the best support and armor vs. all other boots. In other words your feet/ankle are well protected.
3. Almost every part of the Sidi is replaceable even the sole.

Such a nice looking boot.

I also got a deal on an Arai XD3 helmet on sale with no tax and free shipping. I picked the Arai over the Shoei Hornet because.

1. The looks.
2. The visor is a bit longer on the Arai which I'd rather have than being more aerodynamic because I don't use my DRZ at those kinds of speeds anyway.
3. The inside liner is a lot more plush.
3. Arai makes more of an oval shaped lid which fits my head better rather than Shoei which makes a more rounder lid.

Leathers

Yay!!! I got my full leathers a couple of days ago. The only thing Im missing for the track day will be boots, and a back protector. I checked out some boots online and I like the Sidi Vortice the best because it has the most protection and every part of that boot can be replaced. I also didn't want to have the same suit as everyone else so I went to Johnson's Leathers and got my name put on the back in white/red lettering. I also put on the Modcom patch since I started MMA there before anywhere else. Now only if the rain would stop.

Red Lines!

Cycle Gear messed up my order for my red stainless steel break lines. I ordered a front set of brake lines from Galfer through cycle gear but it turns out one of the guys forgets to fill out a form and no order went out. It had been a week. If I had not called them they would of never filled out the rest of my order. I guess I'll be getting the lines next week.

Z

I got some little things for the "Z". Mostly trimmings. I'll post pictures of everything when I get the chance. I went to Motostrano today with Kev. We checked out stuff there. I saw the whole Sidi line of sport and touring boots. They all look a lot better in person. Kev checked out an A*'s fullsuit. I think he's settled on getting a two piece. Its still raining and it will continue for this next week. So we've had rain now for the past three weeks. We need it. Anyway, the sidi touring boot called "canyon gore" is awesome! I still like the spidi xp7 racing boot though.

Cans

I've been checking out slip-on's for 'stubby'. I thought I was end up with a Yoshi slip on but I checked out the Leo Vince and I think it looks cool. A lot of people don't dig the look but I like it. Im always into weird looks that others don't dig anyway. Here's a picture of it.

The Gladius

Here's a tricked out gladius! I think it looks cool with the 'sumo' styling.

Over the rainy weekend...

I ordered some parts for my "Z" and my CBR. They came in. I ordered supermoto engineering axel blocks & sliders for my DRZ and frame sliders for my CBR. The stuff for my "Z" look trick and the added protection makes me feel better. Unfortunately, for the CBR I had to cut a hole in my fairing for the frame sliders. Man, I don't know about anyone else but for me taking off the 2008 CBR 1000rr fairing is a huge pain in the arse! Everything is so bunched up. I guess when Honda said they made a smaller, more maneuverable, more compact liter bike they meant it. I remember my gixxer was a lot more easier to work on than the CBR. My bro and I also changed the oil on his sumo and my XT. Finally felt a bit more productive instead of sitting here coughing my lungs out.

Yet another ride

Kev and I did a 110 mile loop. Stinson, hwy 1, Olema, Point Reyes, all the way to the small town of Tomales. Had some lunch at this cool little sandwich place. We went back the same way but went home through Lucas Vally Road. That was a bad choice. The roads over there were wet and a bit slippery. I had an "oh shit" moment when I lost traction in the front and rear tire for a second. We finished off with our usual stop at Saulsalito. This time Reg let me use her transponder for the bridge. Man, that makes such a huge difference. = ) On another note. I'm suffering through a bought of bronchitis and it sucks big time!!! It feels like you actually cough out a dam lung. It seems as if I catch this crap once a year. Sucks big time!
