Stubby's Stuff

I Just finished putting on the 2k8 Leo Vince GP Pro - Slip on with Kev's help. Every time I look at it I think of the old "Ricola" commercial with the Swedish guys blowing through those horns.

OEM Pipe

Leo Vince GP Pro

Feeling the weight difference from the stock can was amazing. I believe there's about a 10lbs difference. Anyway, if anyone is thinking of getting this slip-on can one thing to know is you do not need a gasket because the clamp included with the slip-on substitutes as the gasket and a new OEM gasket is to small for the pipe. I made sure by calling up Leo Vince tech support because the directions given with the pipe wasn't clear. I ended up wasting $20 for a oem gasket. I also put on some levers from Pazo, some Yoshi engine guards, and some spools.

XD3

I got the Arai XD3. Awesome helmet! I had it about three weeks now. Venting, vision, fit, protection, comfort, looks, performance in the rain. Its got it all. What a difference not wearing goggles makes. My old motocross helmet is a bit run down from normal wear and tear from two years of use.

For the DRZ

Man I love this bike more and more. I got a couple of more trick parts for the "Z". I got front and back red alloy wheel spacers and a red alloy brake cable clamp. I have stainless steel lines but I have to find some time to put them on. Im thinking of waiting till I need new brake pads before I put on the cable. One thing's for sure the "Z" needs a wash. Sheesh, its got road grime all over it. Poor thing. = )

Yay Another Ride This Week

I rode Monday and today I got to go on another ride. I checked out Bolinas/Fairfax road to see how much the rain damaged them. Bolinas/Fairfax has just been re-opened. The only damages I saw were from mud slides and tons of leaves and pine needles. The backside road was pretty slippery. As for Hwy One, I was riding that stretch by Stinson a bit hard today. I lost the rear and the front for a second. Both times I was scared crapless. Good thing I only lost grip for only a split second but it seemed like an eternity. I saw two groups of motorcyclists at two different times. When I was heading towards Stinson from SF and when I was going heading home towards SF.

Yay, Riding again!

I finally got to ride 'stubby' again because we've got a long break in the rain. I took full advantage of it today. Some of the roads were a bit messed up with rain damage and gravel all over but it was still fun getting out there. The Dainese - Steel suit I got felt awesome. It fit great and the flexibility was right on. It felt as if I was just wearing regular pants out there. That says a lot about the fit of those leathers too. Its hard to find an "off the rack" size leather suit for my body type which is "short and stocky". All I've got to say that suit is worth the money.

Sun

Well the rain has stopped! Now we are expecting sun for the rest of the week. I'm going to ride Monday. I haven't hit the twisties for about 3 to 4 weeks. The roads should be clean but there will probably be residual water run off from the hills. Time to test the suit and its comfort.

Stubby's stuff and my D-Suit

Well Motomummy emailed me back and said they couldn't honor a price that they advertised on their web page. Tell me if Im wrong but I thought if you advertised something you're held by it. I think "customer service called and they want their job back..." (LOL) Anyway, another shifty thing about their customer service is that Motomummy says that calls are responded to after emails. So basically they're saying your call in person doesn't have presidence over an email. Talk about people who don't want to deal with stuff. The problem is Moto Mummy carries so much stuff and at a good price too so its hard not to deal with them.

On a lighter note. I got my Dainese leathers back from "Johnsons Leathers". They did a great job on the lettering for me. I had them also put on the Modcom patch. It looks good. Check it out.
