This is what happens when you don't keep your bike on a battery tender. I haven't used my CBR since my last track day at the beginning of November. It was a perfect day for a ride. I had just put on my mirrors and connected my lights getting stubby ready for the street again. My buddy and I were about to go on a short twisty loop and after getting gas my bike's battery fails. Totally my fault!!
Gas station on Geary and Irving
Going across the street to a construction site for electricity to jump a bike with an electrical charger. (fail electrical cord was to short) then to a Dry cleaning place to try their electrical outlet to do the same but couldn't get the bike started. CC rider to the rescue an hour later.
Taking forever we eventually went home. Billy had to get ready for work and I just rode sharp park and around SF. In full leathers like a nitwit.

November Track Day 11.8.10
Getting Stubby ready for track day.
:)
Here's the cockpit view before track time.
Over all it was a great day. I got to borrow a lap timer and got my best times of 2:14 around the track which qualifies me for the A group. I also got my suspension
dialed in professionally by Dave Moss from Catalyst Reaction. Great group of people and very friendly and helpful. Especially with newbs at the whole suspension process. I recommend getting your suspension done if you haven't already did especially if you're riding track.

Stevie's Ninjai
Putting on the sliders...
Worked on Getting Stevie's frame sliders on this Sunday. Right after I put the sliders on his bike Stevie was backing the lil Ninjai out of my driveway and dropped it smack on its right slider! : ( After picking the bike back up and looking and checking for damage I guess the slider did its job. It saved his fairing from getting smashed. The only damage to the fairing was a little scratch. The problem was the engine
bolt with got bent because the fall smashed directly onto the slider which caused everything else to loosen. I had to take the sliders off and replace the engine bolt with the oem one. Well his sliders were on for a total of five minutes but at least they did their job. :D I guess it saved him from getting overpriced fairings but now he has to get a new engine bolt and put the sliders back on.
After the mishap. Stevie makes the bike look like a 125.

'BlueToot'
So I finally tested my Sena Blue Tooth intercom set up that I eluded to earlier. All I can say is Wow!!! These things rock!!! I can carry a normal conversation at 75mph with another rider. Awesome!!! If anyone is looking to get a bluetooth set up I fully recommend the Sena Blue Tooth system.
The only cons I can think of is the range and only a max of 4 Bluetooth Pairings. Whether its another 3 people, your phone, or Ipod. If you are more that 900 meters then it tends to fade out with static until it automatically shuts off. Other than that its awesome! I don't plan losing site of the person Im talking to anyway.
Here's a picture of the product. The Sena "SMH 10". Yay for technology!

Little Ninjai's Signal
Well it seems Joecool found the problem with The little Ninjai's signal problem with the LED lights. Apparently the stock mechanical relay wasn't reacting well with the signals. So he did some research and found a different electrical relay that would work well with the LED signals.
You can see the yellow relay which is the new one. I placed the old relay below for comparison. The old relay is the little black rubber box on the lower right.
This is the after picture of the tail kit with the LED blinkers.
Now the blinkers and LED light work perfectly. All this time I thought we were going to have to take the bike into a shop. Now to get the frame sliders in.

Mtn. Biking for work & Steve's Ninjai
I had some fun Mtn. Biking for work which was a blast. Im going to have a stressful upcoming week with our winter schedule due for work. Other than that been working on Steve's Ninja. Unfortunately we couldn't figure out what was wrong with his signal light. Everything is wired correctly, no fuses were shorted out, and his relay was fine. We tested Reg's bike with his Ninja and after replacing parts we found again nothing wrong. Steve's gonna have his father look at it and see if he can do anything. Other than that I'd say it'll have to go to 'Joe' at "City Cycle Werks".

Track Day 9.20.10
The weather was perfect for our track day at Thunder Hill. 80 degrees with a slight cool breeze. I had a ton of fun. As you get to a certain level reference points become very important in bringing down your lap times. Awhile back I never really paid attention to them because I was just having so much fun but then you start wanting to bring down your lap times and the more important braking markers, turn-in points, & reference points become.

Mclaren
What a lot of people don't know is Mclaren park in SF offers some good single track. Hopefully with my job (SFRP) will be able to team up with SF Urban riders to put up that Mtn. Bike skills park at Mclaren. That would be the awesome!
More single track by the old BMX track at Mclaren.
Veej charging down the hill.
Veej in his battle gear.
This is the quarry spot. It has several jumps for freestylin and a couple of berms and some cool drops.

Laguna Seca
We scored some free tickets to Laguna Seca Raceway for the Moto-GP event. I still marvel on how loud those freaking machines are. The thing that sucks is that Laguna Seca only has Moto-GP they don't cover Moto2 or the 125's. I think that's unfair that only Indianapolis gets to have the extra races. Laguna should have them too.
Here are the Tissot girls with my brother.
This was our vantage point. It was pretty good because you could see most of the track from there.

Sumo - Dirt Skills School
In early July I attended a Supermoto School that focused on the dirt aspect of Sumo. I had a blast.
This was a fun little jump that you had to hit just right. If you didn't you would end up going over the other side and crashing into a chain link fence. Which I almost did. :?
The class consisted of beginning dirt drills with body positioning riding small ovals then we progressed to the larger TT oval when everybody was comfortable sliding. I've been to a regular sumo school but I really liked this one because it was all focused on dirt skills rather than asphalt. After taking this school I want a dirtbike even more. I would just have to get some supermoto rims and tires for the sumo tracks so I can ride both dirt and sumo. After the TT oval we ended the day riding a full on moto-x track on the sumo tires. Lots of fun. The only thing that sucked was the track temp was around 118 degrees so you would drink a ton of water and not have to go to the bathroom.
Here's a fun little berm on the moto-x track.

China Camp
China Camp Landing
Veej, Neil, Rob & I went out Mtn. Biking at China Camp. It was exactly like the ride we did last year at China Camp with Joe and my bro. The little cafe was finally open there. It was interesting to see the change in ethnicity from the original owners of the shop to the present day owners of the shop through a series of pictures hanging on their walls.

Moto X
Jumping @ Orland
We went to Orland for the Moto-X camp for two days. It was a blast. This was the first time I'd ever been fully on a moto-X bike. So much fun! Kevin Anderson was quite a character. I think everybody crashed at least once riding around. We camped out so we didn't have to pay anything for lodging.

Hard Knox Cafe (Soul Food)
This is the BBQ Chicken w/macaroni & potato salad.
Reg & I went to Hard Knox Cafe in the Richmond. Good place for cheap eats the only thing that sucks about that place is the parking. You will never find parking. You have to factor in 15 to 20 minutes to find parking. Other than that you'll enjoy the food especially if you liked it southern fried!
Here's the southern fried chicken w/macaroni salad & mashed potatoes.

chugging along...
Well its been raining on & off for now for the past month. Nothing really serious though. I haven't been doing any twisty riding. Just riding to work. Mostly the DRZ and the XT. We put my brothers new chain on his DRZ and from what he says it makes a huge difference because his old chain was totally stretched out. Now he's borrowing my XT for the moment because his rear tire on his Z is shit. I've also got to get in touch with Regina's friend who has a bike trailer and see if I can hitch rides to the track.

Rain!
My XT on a sunnier day.
Well its been raining for the past two weeks. Really bad at times. The gear Im wearing is the water proof A*'s boots, some snow board gloves, Arai - XD3 helmet, & a two piece rain suit. Under the rain suit im wearing a leather jacket and knee/shin armor under my pants. For the most part its working well. Not to bad. The only thing I should be looking into is getting a proper set of rain/waterproof gloves for riding a motorcycle. Everything is holding up well. At time's the rain suit leaks in various places because of the wear and tear on it. I've had the suit for two wet seasons now. The leaks aren't bad but water does seep in only when its raining very hard. I also have a one-piece rain suit but that thing is a hassle getting on & off. If you are going to get a rain suit get a two piece for sure. It's easier to take off, not to mention it's more modular - meaning that if you just need to wear the pants part of the suit and not the jacket then being a two piece makes that possible.
I've been using my XT225 for the rain which is perfect. That little bike is reliable and easy to maintain. The only thing it needs right now is a proper front fender for the rain. I was stupid and chopped mine off to make it look more supermoto'ish. I guess I'll have to go to the dealer and get a new fender sometime soon...
