Finally A Break From The Rain!

I finally got 'stubby' out for a ride. She really needed it. Kev & I went over to our old crash site up past Point Reyes. The weather was good but some of the roads were wet due the past days being rainy. The other thing that sucked was there was a lot of traffic on the roads. We also saw a lot of 'out of state' license plates. I remember seeing several Nevada's, A couple of Arizona's, a couple of Washington's, and one Oregon.

Pistons & Full Suits

I got my Pistons today in small. I guess my size for d gloves are in small not xs. I like the overall feel and they don't push my hand away from the handle bar but I think that has mostly to do with the size not the style. I actually like the pistons better than the blasters. I also tried on the one piece suits today and I like the "Steel" full suit. It fits me well and has a lot of stretch panels. What really surprised me of the D-suits is that the leg area is very flexible for all the suits. You can really stretch them. Compared to my A-Stars pants was like night and day. The D-suits feel more like wet suits while the A-Stars feel like plate mail armor.

Dainese Blasters

My bro got me a pair of D-Blasters in size XS but they don't fit correctly for me. I believe its the size. What happens is that when I open my hand the glove creates a space that takes my hand off the handle bar of the bike momentarily. I broke them in. The glove fits but that spacing on theXS pair doesn't mesh well with grip on the bar.

Vemar

Im trying to sell my Vemar Jiano Helmet. Its a nice helmet but unfortunately it doesn't fit me correctly. My head is a bit more Oval than round and it seems as Vemar and Shoei are more round than Arai.

Stubby

Here's Stubby with the new tail kit. I still have to do something with the exposed wires. I'll probably electrical tape them. Yeah, 'ghetto' style!!!

DRZ & Subby

Funny thing happened today. My speedo cable came off on the DRZ but the good thing was that I was by City Cycle Werks and Joe helped me out. Gave me a screw driver and told me what to do. Joe's da man!!! Sheesh, I feel lazy to go ride stubby today. Oh well, there will be plenty of time for that.

Servicing

Stubby just got her 1st servicing @ Mission Moto and I did the DRZ first servicing myself. Mission wanted to much to put on the tail kit for stubby so I let Joe work on it at Cycle Werkes. The tail kit cleans up Stubby's rear and looks nice. The XT needs servicing next. She's on her third servicing now. I plan to do it myself either next week or this week.

Here's 'Stubby' with her new rim strips. Both Stubby and the 'Z' need to go in for servicing. Both are past their 600 mile break in period.

Ouch August 18th, 2008

Accident: 8/18/08
Time: 1:37
Location: Oh hwy 1 Going north bound inbetween the ci

ties of Point Reyes & Bivalve. Next small town North would be Millerton then Next major town North would be Marshall. Right at the Southern most tip of Tomales Bay.

Two Lane Hwy one.

one lane going North and one heading South. Double Yellow lines were the only divider between lanes. There were two motorcycles and one car involved in the accident.

My friend Kevin Lee and I were just cresting

a hill heading Northbound on hwy 1 @ around 55 mph when I saw a car acting erratically. I slowed down to about 30 to 40mph as I was coming up behind the car. The Vehicle

suddenly hit the brakes and went over to the right side of the lane then swerved left to make a u-turn crossing the double yellow line. As I was breaking hard there was nothing I could do so I continued braking hard and moving over the double yellow line to the left of the vehicle trying to avoid it. I was in full braking mode with my rear tire in the air. The vehicle then sideswiped me and at the same time my friend trying to avoid the vehicle ran into the rear right side of it.
Actions of the car:
The car hit the brakes suddenly veered to the right side of the lane then made a u-turn from the right side of the road and never gave any indication of turning with the signal.

I was thrown about 20 feet doing a complete flip and landed on my backside and then slid for another distance in the gravel by the side of the road. My buddy hit the right rear of the car a

nd flew even further than I did and landed on the road and slid.
My motorcycle went end over end and ended up leaning on the car. My buddies motorcycle looked like the front end exploded and then went over end over end.

Me: no injuries

other than a bruise on my left shin.
Wearing: I was wearing a Dainese leather jacket with armor plus my knee/shin guards and riding boots.

Kevin: just a sore ankle and several scratches on his back.
Wearing: Icon jacket with knee/shin guards plus padded hip and leg protection.

Riding with Kev

I've been riding with kev the past three weeks. Mondays are the perfect times to hit the twisties because of no weekend traffic and less cops. Kev just began and rides a gixxer08. The thing I dont like about the new gixxers is that huge pipe.

Cag Parts

I ordered some performance parts for the Cag. A revamped engine that has significant upgrades which include high-flow airfilter, metal pullstart with billet starter pawl, 44mm big-bore cylinder and piston, and high-performance clutch housing and sprocket. I also got a tricked out carburetor and a pipe. Hopefully, I can put that stuff together.

Cags are soooo fun!!!

Two Wheels For Life

Veej & I under Hwy 280

I dont know how long Its been but ever since I can remember I've always loved two wheels above everything else. When I was younger I rode BMX, Mini Bikes, Road Bikes (i raced cat 4 when I was a teen), mountain bikes, and motorcycles. I started riding street bikes in 1990. I started with a Kawasaki Ninja 250. After a couple of years I quit. I just started up again in 2006 with a brand new GSXR 600. I feel refreshed to be back on a bike again. The freedom, the speed, the feeling you get when you have a bike leaned over. Nothing like it in the world! This is the starting of my first moto blog on my adventures, highs & lows of my motorcycling from now till I can't ride anymore.
