Ouch August 18th, 2008

Accident: 8/18/08
Time: 1:37
Location: Oh hwy 1 Going north bound inbetween the ci

ties of Point Reyes & Bivalve. Next small town North would be Millerton then Next major town North would be Marshall. Right at the Southern most tip of Tomales Bay.

Two Lane Hwy one.

one lane going North and one heading South. Double Yellow lines were the only divider between lanes. There were two motorcycles and one car involved in the accident.

My friend Kevin Lee and I were just cresting

a hill heading Northbound on hwy 1 @ around 55 mph when I saw a car acting erratically. I slowed down to about 30 to 40mph as I was coming up behind the car. The Vehicle

suddenly hit the brakes and went over to the right side of the lane then swerved left to make a u-turn crossing the double yellow line. As I was breaking hard there was nothing I could do so I continued braking hard and moving over the double yellow line to the left of the vehicle trying to avoid it. I was in full braking mode with my rear tire in the air. The vehicle then sideswiped me and at the same time my friend trying to avoid the vehicle ran into the rear right side of it.
Actions of the car:
The car hit the brakes suddenly veered to the right side of the lane then made a u-turn from the right side of the road and never gave any indication of turning with the signal.

I was thrown about 20 feet doing a complete flip and landed on my backside and then slid for another distance in the gravel by the side of the road. My buddy hit the right rear of the car a

nd flew even further than I did and landed on the road and slid.
My motorcycle went end over end and ended up leaning on the car. My buddies motorcycle looked like the front end exploded and then went over end over end.

Me: no injuries

other than a bruise on my left shin.
Wearing: I was wearing a Dainese leather jacket with armor plus my knee/shin guards and riding boots.

Kevin: just a sore ankle and several scratches on his back.
Wearing: Icon jacket with knee/shin guards plus padded hip and leg protection.
